  Off to the the BBQ… 

  …but before I go, some things to note:

  1. I am wearing a romper. An entire outfit made out of one item of clothing. I like the efficiency of it. But I also like the efficiency of my fanny pack, and that doesn’t mean it is in good taste. Either way, I’m giving it a shot.

  2. I put the Nars monoi oil in my hair. It smells tropical. It looks a tiny bit greasy. It makes me feel like I spent the night on a beach in Tahiti, so overall, a success.

  3. My new camera, which I do not yet know how to use but am madly in love with anyway, is a Leica D-Lux 3. I got a smashing deal, or as my friend Mia said, I used my energy to manifest it. Here’s the link to their website: http://en.leica-camera.com/photography/d_system/digilux_3/

  4. I dig this blog thing. Maybe I am just totally self-absorbed with us, but it is so much fun!

  I know you and I have some strong feelings about hats made out of straw, especially ones made by hand for two or three months and cost anywhere from $300 to $25,000, but after watching this piece that came out in the NY Times this morning I have to say – I truly dislike this trend. And now I ONLY like the ones that are hand made and cost tons of money.

  I’m just not into – He’s just not that into you 

  Ok, I did another nice Saturday thing – I watched a movie at 5 in the afternoon. It took some rationalizing to get myself to watch it in the first place and now all i can do is curse the idea! Ugh. Why did i do it. Rather, why did I choose that particular movie to watch and subsequently waste 2 hours of my time. Goshdarnit!! For your future reference – do not watch “he’s not that into you”. And i hope i’m not too late. Ok, I know i’m a girl but chick movies are bullshit and they should all be shot in the face. This movie spent about the entire time showing me how insane chicks are because they get all obsessed about men and (by the way I was convinced chicks are crazy before i saw this movie!) and then in the end of course they end up happily in love and everything works out and the narrator, one of the crazy chicks, is explaining “see! even though we are crazy it still works out sometimes!” Its like one big backwards fucking joke.

  A nice hair style for when you have been too busy/tired/lazy to wash your hair for the last few days… 

  This is not a fancy hairstyle by any means, but it does well to keep my hair out of my face and looks like I made at least a minimal amount of effort when the reality is, I haven’t washed my hair since last Wednesday. Now, I am by no means a dirty person, I have probably showered about 7 times since then, but when you have two feet of hair, it gets to be kind of a pain- either I spend 30 minutes blow drying it, or I spend half the day feeling like I have a mid-sized wet rodent draped over my shoulders. So, here it is, the low bun, with pins. And they hold better if your hair is not squeaky clean. So there.
